Human brain found inside mail truck near US-Canada border

That was a brainless move.

Somebody tried to ship an undocumented brain from Canada into the US, but the organ was intercepted by Michigan border agents before reaching its destination, officials said Wednesday.

The brain, inside a mason jar, was found in a shipment labeled “Antique Teaching Specimen” last Friday at the Port Huron border crossing, US Customs and Border Protection said in a press release.

The package was being transported in a Canadian mail truck from Toronto, and destined for Kenosha, Wisconsin, CBP said.

Border agents stopped the truck for a routine inspection after it crossed the Blue Water Bridge — an international crossing between Michigan and Canada, the release said.

The brain was found without proper documentation.

“Individuals looking to import shipments such as this, need to remember that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a strict Import Permit Program that must be adhered to,” said Port Director Michael Fox.
